Brooksbank Rugby News

Champion Schools Rugby

Brooksbank’s Year 11 Boys’ Rugby Team have reached the Champion Schools Rugby League Semi Final. The side will meet either Hawley Hall v Lightcliffe at JMO Sports Park, Skelmersdale on 25th March.

The announcement followed opponents Howard of Effingham’s decision to concede the fixture, as four key players were unable to play due to injuries in the Quarter Final.  Hard luck and commiserations to Howard.

Yorkshire Cup

In the County Cup, our Year 11s were on excellent form when they produced a thrilling 58-4 win against local side, Lightcliffe in the Yorkshire Cup Semi Final.

National Rugby News

In national rugby news, former Brooksbank student Matty Nicholson has been named in England’s National Academy Performance Squad.  Matty is one of 43 of the country’s most promising rugby league players who are competing for places in the national squad that will tour New Zealand and Australia during August and September.  Our congratulations go to Matty, who currently plays for Wigan Warriors.
