Brooksbank’s Year 9 Boys’ Rugby Team have powered through to the National Schools’ Final following a convincing win against The Freeston Academy.
Kicking off at 1pm on Tuesday, 15th May at Oulton Raiders’ ground, the team produced a comprehensive 34-6 victory over the Normanton side. Although Freeston showed some promise, it was mostly one-way traffic as Brooksbank’s talented Year 9 team drove their ambition.
A rock solid first-half performance with Brooksbank confidently ahead of the game at half time with a joyous 18-6 lead set the tone for the rest of the game. By close of play, Brooksbank had secured an incredible 28 point lead ahead of their rivals.
With a final score line of 34-6, the message has gone out that Brooksbank are champion contenders to be reckoned with.
Brooksbank will now meet St Peter’s Catholic High (who beat Archbishop Sentamu Academy) in the Year 9 Boys’ National Final on Friday, 6th July at Victoria Park, home of Warrington Wolves.
Congratulations on a fantastic win boys, and best of luck in the final!
