Business Studies students created a Christmas Fair to remember on Thursday, 30th November.  The heart-warming fair brought together students, staff and members of the community together and blazed a festive trail throughout our Main Hall and arthaus.  For visitors, it was a fun-filled, shopping experience and a chance for our youngest visitors to meet Santa and his merry elves, in a specially created grotto.

Students from Year 11 and our Sixth Form had clearly put a lot of imagination and effort into their innovative stalls.  There were party games, crazy golf and, of course, the traditional white elephant stall, plus Christmas hampers, chocolate bars and sweet-filled Christmas baubles.  It was altogether a fantastic effort by a brilliant group of young people.

“I loved to see everyone coming together for Christmas and working as a team,” said Georgia O’Shea.  “I enjoyed the Christmas Fair; it was a great experience and helped me gain new skills, like working as a team, and it gave a boost to my self-confidence,” said another Year 11 student.

It was fantastic to welcome members from our wider community into school.  On sale was a wonderful range of merchandise from greetings cards and candles, to knitwear and jewellery.

Adding to the Christmas vibe were Brooksbank’s Concert Band and Choir who filled the fair with Christmas music and carols.

“The Christmas Fair expanded my abilities in marketing, selling and my social skills,” said Leah Bedford.  “It was a really enjoyable experience and gave me the opportunity to spend more time with close friends, which made it even better.”

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make our Christmas Fair such a fantastic event.  We could not have done it without you!
