Letters in Lockdown

During the third lockdown, students in Year 8 have been writing letters to hospices and care homes across Calderdale and Kirklees.  Students penned the letters whilst they were bubbling at Brooksbank.

We have been delighted to receive a replies!  Julie, a nurse at Overgate, says the letters have been read by staff and patients and have brought smiles to both residents and staff.

In her letter, Julie thanked everyone for taking the time to write saying,

“This year has been a difficult one for our community and we have all coped in different ways.  I know lots of you have continued attending school which must have been strange without lots of your friends but now hopefully in the days and weeks ahead life will get back to some kind of normal.”

Hazel Sykes, a learning support assistant at the school said, “Students really enjoyed writing to ask how they were doing.”
