Year 7 students have enjoyed a thrilling four-day get-away in Ambleside! Adventures included raft-building, canoeing, gorge walking, abseiling, and climbing.
"It was the best trip ever!" said Mr Verdeyen, LEARN's Leader. This group loved the wall-to-wall sunshine, which blessed the whole trip. "What a fantastic few days of mountains, rivers, canoes, fun and laughter!" exclaimed Mr Lomas, STUDY's Leader.
The weather had other ideas for Year 7's second adventure in Ambleside. Calamitous weather and dramatic downpours bookended the week. However, despite drenched clothing, spirits remained high.
Students enjoyed everything on the action-packed itinerary and memories that will last a lifetime.
One memorable moment for Mr Lomas happened in a pitch-black cavern on Loughrigg fell when a group of students spontaneously burst into song—singing Lewis Capaldi's Someone You Loved made a wonderful memory for everyone involved. Yes, we have the phenomenal video footage!
Group leader Mr Nortcliffe praised student behaviour, "It was excellent throughout and engagement with the activities was super. I was proud to be a group leader." Staff at the Youth Hostel agreed.
Thank you to everybody who took part in these unforgettable residentials.
