In the wake of our LGBT+ History Month celebrations, we are pleased to announce that Jorja Fairclough is the winner of Brooksbank’s LGBT+ Design a Badge Competition!
The month-long celebrations took place in the spring term, and students were encouraged to enter the national design-a-badge competition. Sponsored by The Proud Trust, the event is committed to improving the lives of LGBT+ young people through positive education. This year’s celebration also marked the 50th anniversary of the first Pride March in the UK in 1972.
Jorja, a student in 9T, produced a beautiful design in response to the competition’s ‘behind the lens’ brief. Our judges loved the design for its vision and clarity. Jorja chose lighting equipment to shine light on an 'equality mountain' that LGBT+ people currently experience. Jorja’s winning design will now be entered into the national competition to find the badge for the 2023 campaign.
Runners up were Sam Hawker and Amelie Green, in Year 9, and Megan Bailey in Year 7. All received a tote bag of art goodies to develop their skills. We would also like to make a special mention to form 9T for their excellent contributions!
Best of luck in the national competition, Jorja!Back to News
