Careers & Work Experience

Careers Education

All students have access to the Careers Resource Centre where they will find literature and resources to aid them in making well-informed decisions about their future. The Head of Careers works closely with our independent Careers Advisers from Calderdale and Kirklees Careers to ensure impartiality. Careers Education is included in the Form Period Programme for all students.     One to One guidance or group sessions are available at key points in a student’s school career to help in making decisions for KS4, Post 16 choices and Post 18, as well as aiding application for work-based learning or training. The school has excellent relationships with a number of local employers, and opportunities for mock-interviews and workshops are available for students to access. The school has also achieved the quality standard in careers education information, advice and guidance.

Careers Advice Section

The careers area and careers resources are based in the LRC. The careers area has the same opening times as the LRC.  The school holds the C&K Careers Quality Standard. C&K Careers offers impartial information, advice and guidance to our students.
