Monitoring Progress

Monitoring Students

We monitor our students carefully to make sure they are working well and making good progress. Twice a year students are given effort and attainment grades and have the opportunity to discuss these with their form teacher. The grades are also sent to parents. In addition targets for the future are agreed and written in planners. Subject teachers and form teachers regularly monitor and assess work and progress. Good work is rewarded and concerns are passed on to Heads of Year who will contact parents.

The Student Planner

A key document from day one is the planner given to each student. It is used every lesson to record homework, credits and progress grades. Parents are asked to sign it each week as do form teachers. It is a key means of communication between school and home.
