Student Grouping

On arrival in Year 7, students are placed in mixed tutor groups which meet every day with their form teacher. Usually these groups stay together for five years. A Head of Year has responsibility for the overall well being, support and achievement of the year group. This ensures that each child is well known and looked after. The Head of Year is the first point of contact for parents.

The form is a strong, cohesive unit and there are opportunities for students to take part in inter-form competitions as well as social events and trips.

In addition we have a range of other staff who are available to support and encourage our students. Heads of Year are supported by both teaching and non-teaching assistants as well as three pastoral workers who are happy to help with queries and advice. We also have a Health Care Assistant, a Welfare/Attendance Officer and a number of learning mentors. This strong and talented team works hard to support each individual student.
