Welcome to Brooksbank Sixth Form 

We are a thriving, successful Sixth Form with a strong sense of community plus a commitment to each individual student. There are currently over 280 students here. Most of these attended Brooksbank School but increasing numbers join us from schools all over Calderdale.   Our aim is to provide a first class educational experience for every one of our students. Academic achievement is top priority for us and we are proud of our Examination Results, which continue to improve each year. We are also justifiably proud of our wide ranging and extensive Curriculum Provision.   We have a lot to offer our students:

 

  • a wide range of academic and vocational programmes
  • a friendly and welcoming learning community with high quality teaching and excellent facilities and resources
  • an environment where each student is guided and advised by our specialist support team
  • access to high quality careers guidance to ensure progression to university or employment

Ofsted says …   Our school was inspected in November 2011 and we were graded ‘Good’ in every category. Inspectors were very positive about our effective Sixth Form provision. They said: 

“The quality of teaching is good overall with some examples of outstanding teaching”. “Students have a high regard for the quality of their Sixth Form experience, describing it as ‘outward looking’ and that it ‘offers us choice to further ourselves’. “There is an extensive range of opportunities for students to be involved in recreational and enrichment activities with large numbers of students grasping these opportunities with enthusiasm”.
