Teacher of Health and Social Care
Full time

We are a large, popular and successful comprehensive school and specialist Sports College and from September 2020 we are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our Health and Social Care team.

Health and Social Care is a thriving and expanding curriculum area here with a proven track record of exam success at Key Stage 4 and Post 16. Results are exceptional and in 2019 Health & Social Care Key Stage 4 results, (89% pass rate at level 2 and 100% pass rate at level 1) produced one of the highest value-added scores in the school. At A’ level our students achieved 100% pass rate in both the single and the double courses and achieved ALPS 3 and 5 retrospectively.

We offer a wide range of courses including BTEC Tech Award at Key Stage 4 and BTEC Extended Certificate and Diploma at Key Stage 5 and is a well established, well respected department, at the heart of the schools curriculum. Health and Social Care at both levels is a very popular subject taken with 3 classes at ks4 and both level 2 and 3 courses in the sixth form. We have a dedicated suite of rooms and ample ICT facilities. As well as the health and social care courses, we also offer Children’s Play, Learning and Development to our year 12 Level 2 students.

Applicants are invited to express an interest in full or part time roles, and the ability to contribute to other social science areas identified. In the past the department have contributed to level 2 sixth form careers and PSE courses, and level 3 progression modules and extended project.

This post offers an excellent development opportunity for an ambitious and talented teacher and we welcome applications from experienced practitioners or those seeking their first position.
